Fertility treatments

The first consultation
First, we will have a detailed conversation with you during your first consultation. During this appointment, the doctor will discuss your answers to a questionnaire you filled in before your consultation. If tests and/or treatments have already been performed, we recommend that you bring a copy of all existing information to that consultation.
Usually, the doctor will also take a smear of the cervix and perform an ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries. This way, a clear picture of the issue can be formed. If necessary, further examinations are scheduled.

The diagnostic phase
The doctor will discuss with you what examinations are needed. These examinations are scheduled in the shortest time span possible to determine the cause of reduced fertility as soon as possible. Safety and quality are guaranteed by certified procedures and daily quality checks. The possible examinations in this phase are;
- a blood test
- a gynaecological examination with vaginal ultrasound
- a semen analysis
- a hysterosalpingo-foam sonography (hyfosy)
- a hysteroscopy
- a transvaginal hydrolaparoscopy
- a laparotomy

The follow-up consultation and treatment
Based on these results, the doctor will make a diagnosis and discuss possible treatments with you. Consent forms must be signed for each treatment.
If you are under 43 years old and registered with a Belgian health insurance is there, you are eligible for the reimbursement of 6 IVF attempts. To get this approval, the doctor will give you a document to submit to your health insurance fund. After approval, we can order the necessary medication.
