PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy)

PRP involves the extraction and concentration of platelets from a small sample of the patient’s blood, which is then re-injected. The platelets contain growth factors that can stimulate cell generation and healing.

The interval between two PRP treatments is ideally between 6 to 8 weeks. There is also ideally 6 to 8 weeks between treatment and stimulation.

Given that there are currently only a limited number of studies present, PRP treatments should still be considered experimental. How long PRP treatment has an effect is not yet known.
